Business Operations Manager

Domin is creating a brand new position in the company with the sole focus of business operations. This role will be varied and evolving.

The vision for this role is to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment by developing and optimising day-to-day processes, under the CEO’s strategic vision.

Today, operational responsibility is with the CEO, and large aspects of it are distributed throughout the company with his stewardship. However, it has become apparent that there are significant inconsistencies between how our operations run and their interconnectedness. It is also perceived that Marcus has instigated (and sometimes taken on by others) the best systems we have in Domin. These include the People Portal, Order Management and Recruitment App. One of the main reasons these processes work well is due to an architectural approach to design, strong implementation and continuous improvement alongside appropriate interconnectedness. Further, we are entering a size where we need to make significant changes to how we operate and our systems and processes.

The main focus of the role today will be on the creation of systems and processes that support the continued growth and operational effectiveness of Domin. This will be coupled with implementing better “Understanding” dashboards across Domin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement systems and processes that support the effective day-to-day operation of Domin, enabling better interdependency between people, teams, and departments.
  • Support the design of company-wide processes under the strategic direction of the CEO—this role will be responsible for delivering a significant portion of that work.
  • Analyse and measure organisational performance, ensuring we’re tracking the right metrics and using them to drive understanding and accountability.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in operational processes, then design and implement improvements that enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Build dashboards and data structures that help leaders and managers clearly understand how their areas are performing.
  • Generate insights across the business, equipping leaders with the data, context, and understanding they need to make sound decisions.
  • Take ownership of Airtable and ensure consistency in app design, structure, and maintenance across the company.
  • Promote and embed our culture of internal tool development. Encourage individuals to build early-stage apps, while knowing when it’s time to evolve them into structured, company-wide tools.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Domin’s culture. This role will help shape how culture is experienced day-to-day through systems and processes, and that carries significant influence and responsibility.
  • Lead or support a variety of operational projects, such as scoping new facility locations, evaluating satellite office opportunities, or conducting feasibility studies for strategic initiatives.
  • Act with the highest integrity at all times. This role will have access to privileged and sensitive information—discretion and trustworthiness are essential.
  • May lead the design and implementation of larger infrastructure projects such as Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Product Data Management (PDM) tools.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong Operational Thinking: Proven ability to analyse and improve business operations, including workflow design, process mapping, and systems implementation.
  • System Design & Implementation Experience: Hands-on experience creating or managing internal systems (e.g., MRP, CRM, ERP, or custom tooling in Airtable or similar).
  • Project Ownership: Ability to take end-to-end responsibility for projects—from idea to rollout—and deliver them with minimal oversight.
  • Analytical Skills: Comfort with data—knowing what to measure, building dashboards, and translating information into actionable insight.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work across departments and break down silos to ensure smooth handoffs and shared systems.
  • Communication Skills: Able to clearly articulate complex systems/processes to a variety of stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to Detail & Structure: Strong architectural mindset—understanding how systems interconnect and ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Cultural Alignment: Willingness to deeply understand and embed Domin’s unique culture through systems, processes, and daily interactions.
  • Discretion & Integrity: This role will have access to sensitive company information and must operate with the highest level of trust and confidentiality.

Beneficial Requirements:

  • Experience with Airtable (or similar low-code/no-code platforms): Since Airtable is core to many Domin tools, familiarity will help from day one.
  • Previous experience in a scale-up or fast-growth tech/manufacturing company: Understanding the specific operational challenges of growing teams and evolving processes.
  • Experience with MRP/MES/PLM systems: Helpful if they’ve selected or implemented production or product lifecycle tools before.
  • Process Improvement Certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies show formal training in operational excellence.
  • Data visualisation tools: Experience with platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for building dashboards beyond Airtable.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or engineering environments: Helps contextualise the challenges and opportunities within Domin.
  • Change Management Experience: Implementing systems is one thing, getting people to adopt them effectively is another.
