Domin is looking for a reliable and precise Deburring Operator to join our Manufacturing team. The components we manufacture at Domin have to meet exacting standards, and you will become an integral part to our manufacturing operations, using precision tools to inspect and remove burrs from parts to ensure they meet our manufacturing requirements.
Much of the work is repetitive and requires sustained focus and manual dexterity. You will follow clear work instructions and quality standards, inspect parts thoroughly for internal and external burrs, remove them with precision hand tools, and make sure parts are properly cleaned before handover. You will also be responsible for accurately completing work orders to record that each part is finished and ready to progress.
You do not need prior deburring experience. What matters most is attention to detail, a steady hand, and the discipline to check every part to the same standard, every time. If you have experience in a hands-on production or inspection role, that will help you get up to speed quickly, but it is not required.
Over time, this role will expand to include kitting work: loading and unloading components in our automated machining cells, as we look to change how deburring is done at Domin. The precision, discipline, and ownership you build in this role will carry across into that second area of our manufacturing operation, as demand requires.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove burrs to the standard set out in Domin’s work instructions, using precision hand tools and visual aides without damaging the part.
- Clean parts thoroughly after deburring, removing all swarf and debris before parts progress to the next stage.
- Complete work orders accurately and on time, marking parts as complete only once they meet the required standard.
- Follow all defined work instructions and quality standards precisely and consistently.
- Identify and escalate any parts, tools, or process issues that fall outside standard work instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with Domin’s manufacturing standards.
- Build proficiency in kitting tasks, including loading and unloading components in automated machining cells, to support a phased split of your time between deburring and kitting.
- Coordinate priorities with the Manufacturing Manager as your responsibilities span deburring and, over time, kitting.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards during repetitive, close-focus work.
- Good manual dexterity and steady hands for precise hand tool work.
- Reliable and disciplined approach to following defined work instructions and standards.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload throughout the day.
- Strong sense of personal accountability for the quality of parts you hand over.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues that fall outside standard work instructions.
- Good organisational and housekeeping standards.
- Willingness to learn and eventually take on kitting responsibilities alongside deburring.
Beneficial Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, machining, or precision inspection environment.
- Experience using hand tools, inspection cameras (such as borescopes), or similar precision equipment.
- Experience working to production targets or quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with digital work order or production systems.
